"Heartfelt, self-reflective lyrics. Hair-raising chord changes and melodies... Sartori has made a timeless and original pop record that manages to capture the vibe of an era." - Adam Levy (The Honeydogs)
"A well-produced, well-crafted set of songs from a veteran of the trenches of the music recording business... Owen Sartori has earned his chance to be heard." - Slim Dunlap (The Replacements)
"Great recording, great mix, cool vocals and very intelligent, literate songwriting a la Elvis Costello, Tal Bachman, Aimee Mann..." - Kevin Bowe (Jonny Lang / Etta James)
The full-length follow-up to his Burst Records debut EP, Another Beautiful Day in the Cube features stories from the life of a newly 30-something work-a-day guy trying everything he can to deal with life in a cubicle, his 30th birthday, life and love and loss.
Enlisting the talents of heavyweights Kenny Aronoff (drums/ Avril Lavigne; John Mellencamp; Melissa Etheridge; Smashing Pumpkins), John Ferraro (drums/ Linda Ronstadt; David Baerwald; Boz Scaggs), Dave Marotta (bass/ Phil Collins; Toni Braxton) and Chris Mosher (programmer/ Bon Jovi; keys/ Steven Curtis Chapman), Sartori finds himself in rarified company on his Cube EP. October's release will also feature Tom Tucker (engineer/ Prince; Chaka Khan; Lucinda Williams; Soul Asylum) among others.
These emotional discs draw from Sartori's experiences with lost loved ones, age milestones, failed relationships and, as the title suggests, tongue in cheek reflections on corporate work culture, all genuinely identifiable themes.
Appealing to listeners as diverse as working women, twentysomething young men and their teenage sisters, fans of Jason Falkner, Ben Folds and Glen Phillips find an All-American hero in Sartori who has wooed enthusiasts for years in former rock outfits "Push" and "A Band Called Delicious."
